Walks

Enjoy stunning scenery on a walk around Gilsland & Greenhead

The Gilsland and Greenhead area in west Northumberland offers stunning and varied walks across wild moorland, alongside rivers, through deciduous woodland, for those who want a challenging trek and those who enjoy a leisurely stroll.

Follow in the footsteps of the people who lived and worked here in the past, explore the disused railway tracks and the old drove roads of the men who traded cattle from Scotland to London before the railways were introduced.
