The Hadrian’s Wall Farmers’ Market at Greenhead

The Market, established in November 2005, runs from 10am to 2pm every second Sunday of the month in and around the village hall in the centre of Greenhead. There’s an amazing range of rare breed beef, lamb & pork, much of it organic, as well as free range chickens, game & occasionally farmed venison, reared & prepared in Cumbria, Northumberland and southern Scotland (super sausages & bacon too). Plus organic vegetables, breads & pasties, local honey & plants, a huge range of jams, chutneys & mustards, home baking and exotic puds. Local food of this quality is surely an essential part of the experience for every visitor! Orders taken for self- catering stays. It’s also a regular meeting place for local residents who can share gossip & news while stocking up
