Who are we?
We are the providers of accommodation, services,
food & drink, entertainment, and products in the area around
the villages of Gilsland and Greenhead, working together.
What can we do?
We can share information about the delights and services in the area for the benefit of our visitors;
and we can share information about the latest trends in the tourism industry to keep ourselves up to date.
We can access grants and deliver pressure as a group much better than as individuals.
What have we done already?
We have:
- Organised language classes for members;
- Run a joint weekend "Roman" event for visitors;
- Held an evening with local experts on the Romans;
- Applied for the funds to set up a website;
- Received support for trips abroad to tourism trade fairs;
- Compiled a detailed list of local attractions and services;
- Established links with other tourism partnerships along Hadrian's Wall and the umbrella organisations
like One NorthEast, Haltwhistle Tourism Partnership, Carlisle City Council Tourism Group and the DTI.
How do we operate?
We have a committee and the members meet on a fairly regular basis during the winter, rotating the venue
so that we can visit different premises. Up to the minute information is circulated through email and
the post.

The annual membership fee is £25.
